I came across 2 identical Duplex

One called the 912 new as of 2004 the other 920 new as of 1994.

They are not identical. The new one obviously says "made in China"

I thought it was common knowledge Altec Pro was doing Chinese knockoffs.

The point is :it's not new stuff as advertize it's vintage 1994 equipment regardless of were it's made.


3/4 of JBL production is made in China :so unhook.

Anyway, I can't think of anyone who considers Altec Pro equipment. They are a non-player in the market.

Many just consider them a bad joke. Hopefully they will be gone soon.

Duplex with dome tweeters should be discontinued.
The UREI 809 component was a better concept.

I wouldn't put the worry you are into it. I don't think anybody is buying Altec Pro anyway.

That stuff isn't Altec anymore than the Waldom driver copies were.

Frankly wasn't that particular speaker an EV that Telex forced Altec to market?
